OTV MD Jagi Mangat Panda Summoned By Assembly Committee For ‘Breach Of Privilege’

Bhubaneswar: The Managing Director of Odisha Television Ltd Jagi Mangat Panda appeared before the Odisha Legislative Assembly's privilege committee on Monday, over a ‘breach of privilege’ motion.

Congress chief whip, Tara Prasad Bahinipati had moved a Breach of Privilege Motion against OTV after the channel telecast a report on November 19, 2018 on adjournment of Odisha Assembly session.

According to the report published in the regional news channel, Speaker Pradeep Amat adjourned the session after being prompted by the House Secretary. The visual of the Assembly Secretary having a conversation with Amat was also aired on OTV.

Odisha Legislative Assembly’s Privilege Committee had summoned Panda one week back to appear before it. Law Department Minister, Pratap Jena who led the committee said that the next date of hearing will be finalised soon. “The investigation is not over yet and further discussions will be held soon.”
