Bhubaneswar: With expansion of the capital city, many new apartments and shopping malls are being built and the people living or working in the establishments need to know how to save their lives during fire hazards.

In view of this Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) in collaboration with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), Red Cross and Civil Defence have planned to organise mock drills in various such establishments to train the public.

One such mock drill was conducted at Esplanade Mall near Rasulgarh in Bhubaneswar today, which also helped in identifying the strengths and lacunae of the disaster management forces in order to be better prepared for the future.

The drill focused on use of equipments meant for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) emergency and other measures to evacuate people and control the hazard.
