Cuttack: With millennium city Cuttack celebrating the Durga Puja some orphan children also get the chance to see the life-size representations of Maa Durga, a form of mother goddess as per Hindu mythology.

Like any child, the occupants of Swami Bichitrananda Kalyan Ashram at Dagarapada in Cuttack also get to wear new clothes during Durga Puja. Besides, the ashram authorities ensure the children embrace the festival spirit by pandal hopping and enjoying joy rides.

An ashram resident Siddhant Mohanty said they visit the pandals every year and enjoy the fairs during Durga Puja. Another resident Pintu Pradhan thanked the ashram head Prasanna Kumar Nanda for giving them the chance to enjoy the puja.

"As Odisha is celebrating Durga Puja, crores are being spent for it and all are having fun, it is our aim that the children confined within the four walls should also enjoy it. They should get social support and feel the festive spirit. We want to give a message that all are part of a family," said Pradhan.
