One Outlaw Injured And Nabbed In Ganjam Encounter

Berhampur: One notorious criminal was injured and then nabbed in an exchange of fire with the Aska Police early morning today. However, his associate managed to flee from the scene.

The Aska Police had received information of movement of two antisocials near Charimaili area on a number plate sans bike, said Police officials. At 12.25 am today, when Police intercepted them, they fired shots at the Police team. In defence, Police too fired shots which resulted in one P.Sibasankar Dora (32) alias Tingiri, of village Pandiapathar, receiving bullet injuries on his left knee, confirmed Police officials.

He was immediately shifted to Aska hospital and later to MKCG Hospital, Berhampur. One numberless motorcycle, one mouser, and two live ammunition were seized. However, Dora’s associate managed to flee from the scene and a search operation is underway to apprehend him, said Police officials.

In the said encounter, two Police officials too sustained injuries. They were provided with necessary treatment.

Dora was wanted in a firing incident on one Balaram Sethy on Diwali evening, said Police officials.
