Bhubaneswar: Packaged milk by the state-owned Odisha State Co-operative Milk Producers' Federation Limited (Omfed) is set to become costlier by Rs 4 per liter from September 27.
The change will be reflected across all range of packaged milk, an official release said. The step was taken as Omfed decide to hike the dairy farmers’ produce price by Rs 3 per liter.
Hence, the toned milk which was Rs 36.70 per liter previously will now be available at Rs 38 per liter. Similarly, premium milk which was available at Rs 41.75 per liter and gold premium which was available at Rs 40.75 per liter will now be sold at Rs 44 per liter.
The hike in milk prices will also benefit the agents with 25 paisa per liter. Additionally, Omfed will also be depositing 20 paisa per liter for each agent as part of Omfed’s saving scheme or ‘Sanchaya Yojana’.
