Balasore: Tension gripped Adang Bazar area in Soro police limits here today morning after a young girl died as she was allegedly administered wrong injection. The deceased has been identified as Sasmita Das (20) of Bagudi village.

Reportedly, Sasmita had gone for consultation to a doctor in a private clinic regarding her fever and cold. Doctor Shashank Shekhar Acharya prescribed her an injection and she purchased it from a nearby medical store. After the doctor agreed that it was the right one, Sasmita was administered the injection.

However, soon after that, Sasmita breathed her last.

Pall of gloom prevailed in the area as Sasmita’s family members were heart-broken. Later a scuffle broke out in front of the clinic, as her family members tried to ransack the place and thrash the doctor.

On intimation, cops reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
