Jajpur:  The Community Health Centre (CHC) at Dharamsala in Odisha’s Jajpur district was ransacked by irate family members of a woman who lost her life few hours after giving birth to a son.

As per reports, the woman was brought to the CHC on Monday in which she delivered a baby boy. But her condition got critical due to excessive bleeding, due to which the doctors referred her to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, the police reached the spot and took stock of the situation.

But she died on way. When her family and relatives heard the news, they ransacked the health centre alleging medical negligence and inefficiency of the doctors.

But the doctor at Dharamsala CHC, Dr Manas Ranjan Swain clarified, “The pregnant woman had come quite late. She required breech presentation delivery, so was immediately referred to SCB as we do not have the requisite expertise. I then learnt that the baby died on way to Cuttack. Her family members have destroyed many valuable instruments; eighty percent of medicines were ransacked, water filters and beds were destroyed.”
