Odisha: Vehicle Not To Be Charged Parking, Entry Or Access Fee At Bhubaneswar Airport From April 1

05 January 2019

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to provide hassle-free services, Airports Authority of India (AAI) has decided to exempt vehicles from paying parking fee at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), bringing cheer and good news to the people.

This decision came from the AAI after the announcement of the new policy on 10th December 2018. As per the new policy, vehicles (except commercial vehicles) which are going to pick-up or drop lanes will not be charged any parking or access fee. The new policy will be implemented from April 1, 2019 onwards.

The decision came to the fore in a reply to BJD MP Prasanna Acharya's question in the upper house of Parliament. Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha said, “AAI has recently issued new vehicle parking policy on Dec 10 for Bhubaneswar airport. In the new policy, the concept of free time limit has been removed. As per the new policy, vehicle (except commercial vehicles going to arrivals) going to pick-up/drop lanes will not be charged any parking/entry/access fee.”
