**Bhubaneswar:** As many as 2000 transgenders came out on the streets today to voice their demands of a Transgender Welfare Board. The minority group took out a rally from Governor House to Lower PMG square.
They walked the streets shouting “We want justice, we want equality.” Meera said, “In 2014, Supreme Court recognized us as third gender but till now the transgender welfare board has not been constituted.”
Another Sadhana said, “We have been staying silent since 2014. All states have already implemented the Welfare Board but it hasn’t been done in Odisha till now. We are also humans. We want 5% political reservation and we also want our rights in education and employment sectors.”
The transgender community has also warned that they will not get off the streets till our demands are met.
