Odisha Traffic Havildar Appreciated For Helping Blind Couple Cross Road

Bhubaneswar: A traffic Havildar has been appreciated for his kind gesture of helping a blind couple and their minor son cross a busy road in Cuttack.

Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi has shared footage of the incident on his twitter handle in which Havildar Lalit Mohan Rout is seen escorting the family across the road at Sikharpur in Cuttack.

“"Good Work by Havildar Lalit Mohan Rout in helping out this visually challenged family to cross the road at Sikharpur, Cuttack. Police is all about serving people. Well done. @cpbbsrctc @dcpbbsr @DCP_CUTTACK", tweeted Sarangi.

The video has garnered hundred of views, several retweets and comments since it was posted by the Commissioner today afternoon.

A twitterati identified as Anuj, journalist and Odisha State Secretary of Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS), has stated, "As a general citizen we are ready to support police anytime by following rules....such videos multiplies our belief.  We all will together make a crime free city".

Sunanda Satapathy, State Vice-President of BJP Mahila Morcha, has stated, "Sir..Police always does it's best bt we public hardly acknowledge their work..Btw Thanx Lalit Mohan Rout 4 this good gesture..????".

Another twitterati Santimoy Biswas shared the opinion that, "Havildar Lalit Mohan Rout knows his moral responsibility. He played his role as a Good Samaritan. People should learn from him and adopt this ideology at the time of need. We must live for the smile of others. ????".

Medical Officer (I/c) of KISS Hospital, Sk Iyakat Ali stated, "Thank you so much highlighting such incident.It creats better relationship between Police and Public".

It is worthwhile to mention that many traffic personnel working under the Commissionerate Police have been felicitated earlier for rendering service beyond the call of duty and setting example for others.
