Odisha: Traffic Cop's Prompt Action Saves Four Lives, Felicitated

Cuttack: Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi today felicitated a Traffic Havildar for an exemplary act of courage while on duty. The brave Havildar, Lalit Mohan Rout saved the lives of four persons at the Sikharpur square on Saturday (November 30).

Rout was deployed to manage traffic at Sikharpur square on the fateful evening. At around 8:30 pm four motorcycle-bound persons came on the way of a speeding truck. On sensing a fatal mishap, Rout sprang from his post and pulled the four persons aside. The four of them had a narrow escape and survived.

The truck was speeding from Jagatpur side and heading to OMP square. "By this gallant act, he saved the lIves of four persons and prevented a major road accident. Rout is commended for his timely response and selfless service," the Police Commissioner noted while felicitating Rout.
