Odisha To Open 36 New Adarsha Vidyalayas By March'20

Bhubaneswar: Odisha government will open Adarsha Vidyalayas in 36 blocks including a State-level one at Bhubaneswar by March 2020, informed School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das here at the Lok Seva Bhawan today.

The Minister said that as of now Adarsha Vidyalayas are functioning in 214 blocks of the State.

These model schools will be soon opened in the remaining 64 blocks, the Minister added speaking to reporters after the General Body meeting of Adarsha Vidyalayas.

"Adarsha Vidyalayas is a flagship project of the Chief Minister. He had also announced it in his party's manifesto that deserving children of Odisha will get a chance to study in English medium schools. The State government has taken a big step to open English medium schools in every block. Adarsha Vidyalayas will be a role model to emulate in the entire country," said Bijaya Sahoo, Advisor Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas.
