Odisha: Tension Over Patient's Death At Pipili Hospital

Puri: Tension ran high at Pipili Government Hospital after a 40-year-old patient died due to alleged absence of doctor in the hospital and delayed treatment.

According to reports, the deceased identified as Gajendra Muduli, a resident of Nagpur area in Gop block was suffering from kidney, liver and heart ailments. He was rushed to the hospital last evening after his condition worsened.

However, the family members have alleged delay in treatment of Gajendra due to absence of doctor at the hospital. A pharmacist present at the hospital declared him dead, following which the kin of the deceased created ruckus at the medical.

As tension gripped the hospital, police were deployed in order to avert any untoward incident.

Later, former Pipili MLA Yudhistir Samantray reached the hospital and pacified the family members of the deceased. He also discussed the matter with Puri Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) for a probe into the matter.
