Odisha: Student Leader Caught Illegally Trading Firearm, Arrested

Bhubaneswar: For his alleged involvement in illegal firearms trade, a student leader Chinmaya Badajena was arrested late last night in Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, Special Task Force of Crime Branch caught Chinmaya and his six associates red-handed when they were negotiating a deal with an undercover cop to sell a gun for Rs 45,000.

Badajena even carried out a blank firing to show the undercover cop that the gun was functioning properly. Following this, Badajena was arrested and a bullet shell was also seized from the spot.

A Bolero car and a gun have also been seized from his possession. The case has been handed over to Dhauli police station for further probe into the matter. Reportedly more than 14 cases are pending against Badajena at different police stations.
