Odisha: Std VIII Student Impersonates As Who's Who, Dupes Public On Social Media

Bhubaneswar: A minor boy has been detained by the Sambalpur police for allegedly duping public on social media. According to the police, the minor created fake Facebook accounts by impersonating as influential personalities of Western Odisha.

The minor, a student of Std VIII impersonated Naba Das, Jayanarayan Mishra, Narasingha Mishra and Sambalpur Collector Subham Saxena and sought favours in cash and kind.

"The minor boy used to pose as MPs and MLAs and demand expensive mobile phones, gadgets and money while chatting online with Facebook users," Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora said.

The minor boy will be produced before the juvenile justice board (JJB) and is likely to be sent to a correctional home.
