Puri: The State Government is fully prepared for the smooth conduct of the Matriculation examinations. Briefing about the Preparations School and Mass Education Secretary, Pradipta Mohapatra said that by Wednesday evening the question papers will reach all the nodal centres across the state.

There are total 304 nodal centres and all the centres are equipped with CCTV cameras. Between 6 am and 9 am the question papers would be transported to the examination centres from the nodal centres on February 22.

This will be a change from the regular practice when the question papers used to be transported to the examination centres on the previous day. Total 701 vehicles manned with police personnel have been arranged for the movement of the question papers, said Mohapatra.

"Each vehicle would reach out to three to four schools and it has been decided that no student sits for the exams in his own school. Besides, a major development this year is the installation of CCTV cameras in over 400 centres," the Department Secretary said.

"By 2020, all the matriculation centres across the State will have CCTV cameras. This is a strict message for the students, teachers and guardians to abstain from any form of illegitimate practice to fetch good marks in the exams," added Mohapatra.

The Exam Conduct Act will be enforced strictly and the DG Police has given strict instructions to the district SPs. Any form of malpractice is a cognizable and non-bailable offence. There is a contingency arrangement for implementing the regulations in letter and spirit, he said.
