Odisha SOG Personnel Shine At All India Commando Training Programme

Bhubaneswar: Personnel of SOG in Odisha Police achieved spectacular success in the All India Police Course Training Programme conducted by NSG Training Center at Manesar, Haryana. The training programme was organized from 26th June to 17th September, 2019.

As many as 314 police personnel from all State police forces, CPF (Assam Rifle, ITBP, CISF, SSB), Air Force and two foreign countries Maldives and Bangladesh had participated. In the final screening test only 87 police personnel were selected out of which 10 were from SOG.

Only 73 commandos successfully passed the whole course Training. Nine out of 10 SOG commandos finally qualified the training course. One SOG commando failed to qualify due to health issues. The training module included both indoor and outdoor activities like firing, PPT, BPET, BOAC, indoor written test, 16 KM endurance test, 24 KM endurance test etc.

There are total 9 course prizes in the training programme. SOG Commandos of Odisha Police bagged eight prizes. Today, the successful SOG commandos called on DGP BK Sharma at his camp office in Bhubaneswar and apprised him about their achievement.

Sharma expressed his satisfaction over the performance of SOG Jawan and congratulated them for their extraordinary feats. He also appreciated the efforts of SOG Jawans for bringing laurels for Odisha Police and advised them to bring more such glory for the State in future.

IG Operations, Amitabh Thakur and SOG Commandant Anirudha Singh were present during the courtesy call of the commandos.
