Odisha Shelter Home Shame: Dharmendra Pradhan Seeks Home Ministry's Intervention

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has sought the intervention of Home Ministry into the allegations of sexual abuse of minor girls at the Dream Center (children's home) of Good News India at Beltikri in Dhenkanal.

It a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Pradhan has urged him to take exemplary action against the perpetrators to stop functioning of the shelter homes in violation of the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.

Pradhan also alleged that the shelter home is also involved in forceful religious conversion and human trafficking. The flow of foreign funds to Good News India is very high and is running 26 shelter homes in Odisha out of which 15 are illegal, he added.
