Bhubaneswar: Twin City police is on a lookout for a private school teacher who is facing allegations of molesting at least four girl students on the institution's premises, one month back.

The teacher, Abdul Ajeez is on the run ever since the school authorities have lodged a police complaint in this case. Ajeez has been booked under multiple Sections of the IPC and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, the police said.

According to the school Principal, Ajeez molested a girl student from Kharagpur who was staying at the school’s hostel here. The girl’s ordeal has been captured on the CCTV camera which is being examined by the police.

“The girl was summoned to the staff room by the teacher on the pretext of carrying out some trivial work. While the girl was in close proximity, he molested her. The incident was witnessed by friend who followed the student upto the staff room,” the Principal added.

The girl rushed out of the room and called up her father who showed up in the city within a day. On the basis of his complaint, the school constituted an internal inquiry and lodged an official complaint with Chandrasekharpur police.

After the matter came to limelight, three other girls have come up in the open and reported about the heinous acts of the teacher in question. The incident has sent shockwaves among parents of the children studying in private schools in the city.

"We have registreed a FIR under multiple Sections of the IPC and POCSO Act. The statements of the victims have been registered and a search is on to nab the accused," a police official said.
