Odisha: Seven Injured In Fire Mishap At Hotel In Rourkela

Rourkela: As many as seven persons sustained critical burn injuries after a fire broke out inside a hotel at Gandhi Chhak in Panposh area here today morning.

The seven persons include the hotel owner, five workers and a customer. They have been identified as Alekh Mohapatra, Kamalakant Giri, Telesafar Toppo, Pradip Mahakud, Nita Dutta and Suresh Jaishwal (owner).

Reportedly, the incident occurred at around 7 am in the morning when breakfast was being prepared at ‘Pancham’ hotel. Fire emerged from a gas cylinder at ‘Pancham’ hotel due to leakage and soon the fire spread to the rest of the hotel gutting down the tables and chairs as well.

On intimation, fire services personnel reached the spot and doused the flames. The critically injured victims are currently undergoing treatment in the burn unit of Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela.
