Bhubaneswar: A day after the body of a security guard was found in a pool of blood in a marble showroom at Pahal, Commissionerate of Police has expedited inquiry into the matter. While the police recovered a handwritten note from the deceased Gadadhar Swain's shirt pocket, which is being claimed to be the dying declaration, two persons named in the note have been detained.

Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said that post mortem reports are being awaited to asertain whether this is a case of suicide or murder. "The room in which the body was found was locked from inside. Moreover, he was alone in that room. We are closely examining the circumstantial evidence to zero in on the cause of death," said Mohanty.

Gadadhar's death triggered tension in Pahala area after his family members ransacked the marble shop and blocked NH 16 on Thursday. Locals spotted the blood-soaked body in a room adjacent to the shop this morning and alerted the police about the same.

Locals demanded immediate action against the culprits and blocked the NH-5 over the same. Vehicular traffic was disrupted on the busy road due to the agitation. Gadadhar had deep cut wounds on his throat which led to profuse bleeding following which he died, said sources. The weapon used for the murder from the spot has also been sized.
