Bhubaneswar: The year 2020 has almost arrived. We will remember 2019 for several ups and downs, but the New Year comes with hope for a better future.
Here, we take a look at who’s who from Odisha and their New Year resolutions.
Abhay, Director General of Police, Odisha: I congratulate all Police officials for their hard work and hope that they work harder towards in their service for people. I hope Odisha Police becomes more people-friendly, women-friendly, and technology-friendly in 2020. I wish people of Odisha a peaceful, happy and safe New Year.
Dr Sudhanshu Sarangi, Police Commissioner, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack: I hope people’s trust on Police force increases. Any negative sentiment will be a hindrance in maintaining law and order situations. We, Odisha Police, belong to the people of Odisha and are forever at their service
Akhileshwar Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack: Just like an eventful 2019, we hope 2020 is equally successful for Cuttack Police. I wish that we keep crimes and criminals in control, properly handle VVIP visits and events and help people as much as possible.
Dibya Shankar Mishra, State Minister of Energy and Home: I resolve to fulfil the hopes that the people of Junagarh have pinned on me. In 2020, I hope to make their wishes true as much as possible.
Susanta Singh, State Minister of Rural Development, Labour: I hope to simplify functioning of Labour Department and inclusion of economically backward sections of the society.
Prafulla Mallik, State Minister of Steel and Mines: We all are here to serve the common people and that is the aim of the Government as well as my own.
Santosh Singh Saluja, Congress Kantabanji MLA: My sole resolution, just like every year, will be to stand with people of my constituency and the people of Odisha and continue to work at their betterment.
Manas Sahoo, Sand Artist: Our main challenge in 2020 will be to reduce the use of plastic. I resolve to start an awareness campaign against single-use plastic items. Continuing with the ‘Mo Beach’ programme, I will continue to work towards a cleaner and plastic-free beach.
