Odisha’s Weightlifter Jhilli Dalabehera Opens India ‘s Account At Asian Weightlifting Championship With Silver

Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born weightlifter clinched the silver medal in the women’s 45 kg category in the Asian Weightlifting Championships held in Ningbo, China on Sunday.

Dalbehera sealed a place on the podium with a lift of 167 kgs, just behind Vietnam’s Huyen Thi Vijong in the A category.

Last year, Jhilli had won bronze at the IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championships in the 48kg category.

It is worth mentioning that Odisha born ace sprinter Dutee Chand has also set a new national record in women’s 100m by clocking 11.28 seconds at the 23rd Asian Athletics Championships.
