Sundargarh/Sonepur: Addressing BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankalp Samabesh’ here at Kirei Ground on the outskirts of the headquarters town here, BJP’s poster boy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that he has come to Odisha not as ‘Pradhan Mantri’ (Prime Minister) but as the ‘Pradhan Sebak’ (prime servant) of the State to seek blessings of his ‘Malikons’ (masters).

He also exuded confidence that a wave in his favour is sweeping and outcome on May 23 will have lotus brand double engine both at the Centre and Odisha.

Initially addressing the gathering at Sundargarh, PM Modi said, “No prime minister has come today. The person who has come today is the prime servant of Odisha for seeking blessings of his masters.”

He said, “The elections of 2019 are very significant. You have to decide to whether to have honest and labourious governments in Odisha as well as at the Centre or corrupt and decision-dithering governments. You have to decide whether you want governments doing development all sections of the society or dynastic and neck-deeped in nepotism. You need to compare the performance of BJP Government in the last five years with the previous Congress Governments and the BJD Government here in Odisha for the last 19-20 years.”

He also informed, “Today is the foundation day of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). 39 years ago, the biggest political outfit placed in the hearts of all, BJP had been formed then on this day. BJP is special because it hasn’t been formed by dint of wealth or muscle power or an ideology borrowed from outside. Our party is of the workers, their sacrifice and sweat not of money.”

Later addressing the election campaign at Sonepur under Bolangir Lok Sabha seat, Modi said, “A wave is sweeping all over the Odisha and clearly visible to all except a few. This tea-seller was made the Chowkidar of the country and the nation was made super power. This is due to your blessings. This Modi is able to do today something for fulfillment of the aspirations of the 130 crore people. The belief of Odisha strengthens when the airport of Jharsuguda gets built and also the Bolangir-Bichupali railway project. Five times more funds have been investment for the development of Odisha.”

“Why is Odisha lagging behind in the race of development despite replete with both natural and human resources? Congress and BJD find their political crop. For this reason, Odisha is not developing. The best medicine for eradicating poverty is ‘Congress Hatao’ (do away with Congress). Poverty is the biggest political tool of Congress and never allows the poor to get rid of poverty. Whatever Congress has already committed, the BJD Government is also doing the same here in Odisha,” he alleged.

He appealed the people, “If you want a strong government at Delhi, you should also opt for a new and energetic government here in Odisha. In BJD rule, there is only partiality and differentiation. When there will be double engine of development with louts brand on May 23 at Delhi and Bhubaneswar, I assure you that the identity of Odisha won’t be exodus but excellence. This election will decide, if you need ‘chowkidar’ (watchdog) or ‘bhrastachar’ (corruption). When you cast your vote for lotus, it will reach straight to Modi. Despite heatwave, make up your mind to cast vote first and drink water next.”

In his counter reactions, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Niranjan Patnaik retorted, “What’s wrong if we are using the poor people as our vote-bank? He is helping the rich, we are helping the poor. He is aiding the capitalists, waiving off their loans, fighting elections funded by the capitalists. We are poor and serve the poor.”
