Odisha’s New Works Secretary Rasananda Sahu Assumes Office

Bhubaneswar: As Odisha Government has appointed senior most engineer Rasananda Sahu as the new Secretary of the significant Works Department, he assumed office today.

Sahu took over the charges from his predecessor Nalinikanta Pradhan.

Talking to media soon after assuming office, Rasananda Sahu said, “You all know that Works Department is certainly an important department. Our engineers work day and night without any time limit. Just like Army people we are ready.”

“Our department is much ahead in performance due to our industrious employees. We construct roads, building and bridges. In many sectors we have achieved immense improvement for the last 15-20 years. Now the financial year is going to end. We are still hopeful that we could complete our targets by March,” he stated.

He added, “As I have joined today, I’m unable to spell out the priorities. However, we are always committed. Whoever may be the Secretary of this department our workforce down the line, like our executive engineers, SE, chief engineers, are all diligent all along. Ours is a continuity process. Thus, everything will be done.”

When enquired about his focus areas, he stated, “Now inaugurations of various projects are going on now. We have preplanned for the constructions of roads and bridges. We have completed before time scores of the projects. In the next 2-3 years, new works will come to the fore for which all formalities have been completed.”
