Cuttack: Retired Fire Services Personnel sat on an indefinite hunger strike on Monday demanding revised grade pay of Rs 4200. They staged a protest in front of the office of Director General (Fire Services) here.

They also alleged that they have not received their gratuity, Employee-On-Leave pay, Commutation and Government Provident Fund (GPF) yet. 

The retired employees said, "Without the financial grants, we have not been able to build a house, get our children married or live a comfortable lives."

"We will continue our strike till the DG assures us that we will get our rights," they concluded.
