Odisha Rajya Sabha By-Polls: Former IAS Officer Ashwini Baishnab Formally Joins BJP

Bhubaneswar: As BJP nominated yesterday former IAS officer Ashwini Baishnab as its candidate for the upcoming Rajya Sabha by-polls in Odisha, he today formally joined the saffron party here at its State Headquarters.

Baishnab joined the party in presence of MP-cum-Odisha BJP president Basant Panda and other senior leaders. He reached the BJP State Headquarters here today and joined the saffron party.

Notably, the former IAS officer of Odisha cadre has been nominated as BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate while his nomination has been supported by BJD. This was simultaneously announced by BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik last evening when he declared the two names of the BJD candidates-Amar Patnaik and Sasmit Patra.
