Odisha Polls 2019: Re-Polling Likely In 34 Booths On May 19, Gearing Up For Counting, Says CEO

Bhubaneswar: Due to irregularities and human error in some booths during the third (April 23) and fourth (April 29) phase polls in Odisha, the Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar informed that repolling is likely in 34 booths on May 19.

These include 12 booths of 3rd phase and 22 booths of 4th phase- one booth each in Baramba, Deogarh, Satyabadi, Talcher, Ghasipura, Bhubaneswar Central, Dharmasala, Sukinda, Jaleswar, Bangiriposi, Salipur and Paradip, two booths in Bramhagiri, four in Athagarh, two in Binjharpur, five in Bari,  four each in Baripada and Mahanga.

On the other hand, stage is being set for vote counting that will be held on May 23. Training related to EVM, VVPAT slip and ballot paper counting of Master trainers is underway while Returning Officers will be trained on May 13 and 14.

Further, district-level training will take place from May 14-19 and counting will be undertaken simultaneously at 5 booths in each constituency, informed Kumar.
