Cuttack: As the elections are round the corner, on 23rd and 29th of this month in different blocks of Cuttack, the administration has launched an awareness campaign so that more and more people engage themselves in the election procedure and have a say in the choosing their representative.

A sand art conveying the message was inaugurated by the Cuttack Collector Aravind Agarwal near the Judicial Academy in Cuttack.

“The main intention behind it is to increase the percentage of voters’ turnout. We have even made all the polling booths disabled friendly with a ramp, wheelchair and volunteers to motivate the differently-abled voters. Moreover, there will be a first aid centre in every booth to deal with any contingency,” informed the Collector.

The artist behind the sand art Siddharth Behera aims at creating awareness among the people regarding the importance of each and every vote.

“The disabled, senior citizens and the young should come forward and exercise their right to vote for choosing their representative,” he said.
