Odisha: Policemen Critically Injured During Bhadrak Group Clash, Hospitalised

Bhadrak: As many as five police personnel were injured during a group clash at the time of immersion of ‘Khudurukuni’ idol here last evening near Malda under Bhandaripokhari police limits.

Reportedly, the two groups entered into an altercation over using Disc Jockey (DJ) sound system during the immersion ceremony.

In order to pacify the irate mob, local police intervened by resorting to mild lathi-charge. However, the police personnel themselves sustained injuries as the mob assaulted them by allegedly pelting stones.

Three among the five wounded cops who sustained grievous injuries, identified as Brundaban Panda, Ashwini Das and Sanjay Giri have been admitted to Bhandaripokhari Community Health Centre.

No arrests in connection with the incident have been reported yet.
