Odisha Police Nabs 75 Middlemen From Hospitals & RTOs

Bhubaneswar: As a part of the special drive against middlemen operating in RTOs and government hospitals, the police on Friday arrested 75 persons in 17 police districts.

With strict instructions from Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to prevent the entry of brokers in government offices, Odisha Police have mounted surveillance on different Hospitals, Medical Colleges, Blood Banks, Dispensaries and Regional transport offices.

DGP BK Sharma has issued orders to District SPs to personally monitor this special drive and register cases against the middlemen. Today, 31 persons were nabbed from hospitals while 44 from RTOs in the districts.

Maximum nine brokers and cheats were nabbed from Mayurbhanj district, while eight persons were arrested from Rayagada, Balasore and Rourkela each. Similarly, seven persons were arrested from Berhampur and Angul districts each.
