Odisha: Police Crack Bhubaneswar Youth's Murder Case, Arrest 3

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate of Police have cracked the murder case of 25-year-old Jaga Das, whose body was found on the railway tracks near Gautam Nagar on September 8. Three persons have been arrested in this connection on charges of murder and destruction of evidence.

The accused have been identified as Kalindi Rana (23) and his brother Dipak Rana (19) of Baramba and Santosh Sahu (22) of Badagada. All three reside currently in Gautam Nagar basti under Badagada police limits.

Investigation revealed that the trio, and their associates had a spat with Jaga over sharing Ganesh Puja 'chanda' (collection). Jaga, a notorious criminal of the area, intimidated them took away the major share.

Kalindi, Dipak and Santosh nursed a grudge on Jaga and attacked him on the fateful evening. He was brutally murdered and his mutilated body was disposed in a drain along the railway tracks.

After the body of Jaga was spotted, the matter was investigated by the GRP as a case of unnatural death. Later, Badagada police took over and registered a murder case. A special team is on a manhunt to nab the other accused who are on the run.
