Cuttack: A 30-year-old man survived narrowly after jumping from the third floor of a private hospital here on Sunday. The man identified as Ramesh Chandra Nayak, is suffering from renal failure with both his kidneys damaged.

Nayak, a resident of Sundergarh was admitted to a private hospital here for the past few days. Early morning on Sunday, he jumped from the third floor of the hospital after breaking the glass of the corridor.

He fell on a makeshift paan shop and sustained grievous injuries, but survived the mishap. He has been shifted to the ICU of the same hospital. His father-in-law said that Nayak was under duress due to the kidney ailment, which could have triggered suicidal tendency.
