Odisha: Panchayat Executive Officer In Vigilance Net For Taking Bribe From PMAY Beneficiary

Balasore: Odisha vigilance sleuths today swooped down upon a Gram Panchayat official while taking bribe from a beneficiary of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY).

Ishwar Chandra Das, executive officer of Dahapada gram panchayat in Remuna block of the district, was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 from one Madhusudan Jena, a beneficiary of PMAY scheme.

Following the arrest, a team of Balasore vigilance division raided residence of Das at Manikhamba and seized many incriminating documents along with pass books of various banks.
