Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) hit back at BJP president Amit Shah's allegation that Odisha was not utilising Central funds appropriately.

In a scathing attack on the saffron party president, Finance Department Minister Sashi Bhushan Behera said that during NDA regime since 2014, Odisha has faced several irregularities and delays in receiving Central funds.

"When we do not get the funds in time, it is ridiculous to claim that the funds are returning back to Delhi," Behera added.

"Over the past several months Amit Shah has come to Odisha on many occasions. And he repeats the same tune time and again that Central funds being under-utilised. These allegations are baseless, fabricated and levelled to meet BJP's political agenda," the Minister said.
