Bhadrak: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari targeted the State Government for not adopting the Central schemes and said that Odisha could have benefitted immensely if these schemes were implemented. Addressing an election rally here on Wednesday, Gadkari said that the State Government did not accept Centre’s proposal on floodwater management and river linking.

The Union Minister addressed election meetings in Basudevpur and Bonth-Bhandaripokhari areas. Stating that the BJP-led government is keen to expand railways network in Odisha, Gadkari blamed the State for not extending cooperation to take forward railway projects.

He highlighted farmers' welfare and said that BJP Government has taken many steps to strengthen health and education sectors. "We have been working sincerely for empowering women and weaker sections of the society. Odisha will be immensely benefitted by Central Government's schemes if BJP comes to power both in Centre and State," he said.

BJP has fielded Abhimanyu Sethi, son of former Union Minister Arjun Charan Sethi, in Bhadrak parliamentary constituency which goes to polling on April 29.
