Odisha: Nirmala Kruti Bikash Trust Honors 3 Dedicated Social Activists, Premieres Woman-Centric Short Film 'SINDURA'

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of NIRMALA KRUTI BIKASH TRUST's (NKBT) Annual Function, three persons were honored for their contribution to social service and woman-centric short film 'Sindura' was screened at Jayadev Bhawan on Wednesday evening.

Dr. Kishanlal Agarwal, Bharatiya Charitable Trust inaugurated the function. The Guests of Honor included Sarat Kumar Das, Retired Principal Commissioner, Income Tax; Preeti Roy, Principal KVS and Nishikant Mishra, Chairman, Dream Team Sahara.

Dr. Harihar Hota, Chairman PG Council, Jagannath Sanskrit University spoke on the occasion and Guru Charana Das, Trustee of NKBT presided over the meeting. Er. Dillip Kumar Patnayak, Chairman of NKBT also spoke about the main theme of the occasion.

Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, Chairman, NALCO; Dr. Kishanlal Agarwal, Chairman, Bharatiya Charitable Trust and Nishikant Mishra, Chairman of Dream Team Sahara were honored with NIRMALA KRUTI SAMMAN- 2018 for their continuous contribution towards social service.

Dr Harihar Hota, Lalitendu Das, Director, Red Crab and Suchismita Prusty, Chairperson, LMBC were also honored for their social work. Meanwhile, Santosh Nayak received an award for his contribution in Film Industry.

Following this, women-centric short film 'Sindura' was also premiered. This 46-minute short film is the third venture produced under NKBT banner. The film focuses on a married woman who finds out that her husband had married her only to keep his father's promise. Will she commit suicide or will she embark on a journey to unite her husband with his former lover, forms the main story. Written by Er. Dillip Kumar Patnayak, this film has been produced by Soumyasmita Patnayak. The film's music has been given by Dr Susanta Pani. Screenplay and direction has been given by Manas Parida.

A new project named 'Go-Sambhardana' was also inaugurated by the guests and the evening ended with a lavish cultural programme.
