Odisha: Newborn Stolen From Patnagarh Hospital Rescued From Kalahandi, 2 Held

Bolangir: A special team of cops rescued the newborn boy who was allegedly stolen by a woman from Patnagarh Sub-Divisional Hospital on March 6. The baby was rescued from a couple in Kalahandi's Kegaon village.

The cops have also held the couple for further probe into the incident. The baby was handed over to his parents today afternoon. Reportedly, the baby was rescued in a critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.

Reportedly on March 6, Jayanti Tandi, wife of Rudramani Tandi, had given birth to a baby boy at the hospital. Hours later, the boy was allegedly stolen by a female impostor posing as their relative. CCTV footage of a couple fleeing with baby on a bike was also captured.

Subsequently, Rudramani filed a police complaint and staged a road blockade. A special team was formed to track down the missing baby by examining the CCTV footage.
