Nayagarh: A +3 final year student was allegedly beaten up for opposing to sale of and creating awareness against marijuana or ganja at Parbatipur village under Fatehgarh Police limits in Nayagarh district.

On Thursday morning, Luv Mohapatra was found in a bloodied state on Bhapur-Parbatipur bypass road. It is to be believed that he was beaten up and attacked with sharp weapons last night. Luv bore fatal injuries on his head and hands.

He was immediately rushed to Bhapur Community Health centre. On his condition getting worsened, Luv was taken to Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar and then shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack for better treatment.

Sources confirmed that for some time now, Luv has been very vocally opposing the sale of ganja in his area. He was also actively creating awareness amongst youth against the use of ganja.
