Bhubaneswar: Sitting Nabarangpur MP Balabhadra Majhi tendered his resignation from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and has urged BJD president-cum-Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to accept it with immediate effect.

“I have no grudge against you. You are a great politician. I admire your abilities. You will always remain as an inspiration to me. But, under these circumstances I feel it proper on my part to quit the Party. I tender my resignation from primary membership of BJD which may be accepted with immediate effect,” mentions Majhi in his resignation letter.

He has also lauded Naveen Patnaik for the support in carrying out scores of developmental activities and projects in Nabarangpur parliamentary constituency.

The letter mentions, “All these would not have been possible without your support.”

Also he has mentioned, “However, somewhere in between, a gap developed between I and you, may be designed by some persons envious of my achievements. I was kept out of discussions and deliberations in the organization. Visit by party functionaries to my area were either not intimated or informed at the last moment. For this reason, I could not attend some of meetings, including official meetings which hampered not only me but also the development of the people of the area am sure some people have misled you.”

“Now I feel cheated, as before last General Election, I was lured into the Party to stand for Lok Sabha. I had sacrificed about 7 years of service and resigned from my post for public service. Now I presume I am no more required in the Party,” states aggrieved Balabhadra Majhi in his resignation letter.
