Rayagada: The assistant collector of Rayagada Siba Prasad Panigrahi died under mysterious circumstances today and his family members have alleged that he was depressed due to work pressure.

According to reports, Panigrahi had consumed excess dosage of Chloroquine tablets in the morning. When he was taken ill, he was rushed to hospital but succumbed on the way.

His family members alleged that Panigrahi had been complaining of heavy workload and constant criticism by ADM Sudhakar Sabar. However, both the Collector and the ADM have denied the allegations and have said that Panigrahi might have taken the extreme step due to family issues.

Cops have sent the body for post-mortem and further probe into the matter is currently underway.
