Pipli: The body of a dance teacher, of DAV Public School Pokhariput branch, missing since September 13 was found from a pond at a stone quarry near Pipli on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Bikash Kumar Nayak of Kotpad in Koraput district. He lived with his wife and his daughter in the Capital city and was closely associated with DAV Public School since last few years. He was, reportedly, missing since September 16.

The stone quarry owner had complained on September 18 of a two-wheeler standing in mysterious conditions for the last two days, informed Pipli Police station IIC Sarat Kumar Sahu. Based on the complaint, they inspected the area and instead found the body of Nayak. The body was found sans clothes and floating in the pond. Empty cans of alcoholic beverage and some empty food packets were also found. His clothes, mobile phone and wallet were retrieved from the pond’s bank.

The body has been positively identified by Nayak’s family and was then sent for autopsy. A probe has been initiated coupled with interrogation of Nayak’s wife and school administration. Hid mobile phone’s location and calls would reportedly be traced.
