Bhubaneswar: MLAs bid an emotional adieu to the Odisha Legislative Assembly as the last session of 15th Assembly came to an end on Friday.

OMMCOM NEWS caught up with legislators from the BJD, Congress and BJP and sought their opinion and experiences during the last five years as elected representatives from their respective constituencies.

Bhograi MLA, Ananta Das: All legislators have worked with dedication for the development of Odisha in the last five years. The environment in the Assembly has been cordial. I served as the Chief Whip for three years and as the Higher Education and Industry Minister.

I am satisfied with my work and happy that I could carry out the instructions of the Chief Minister effectively. I would like to thank my colleagues from all parties for their cooperation which helped me discharging the duties well.

Nayagarh MLA, Arun Sahu: The Vidhan Sabha is a holy place which is the temple of democracy. The expectations and aspirations of people of Odisha are deeply connected with the Legislative Assembly. The destiny of the State is directly and indirectly dependent on this House.

The people of this State will judge me and all other legislators for their work during the last five years. I was associated with activism since my college days but did not expect to reach this House. I am grateful to the Chief Minister for giving me this opportunity to serve my constituency.

Junagarh MLA, Dibyashankar Mishra: Politics is an 'agnipath' (line of fire). Today was my last day in the 15th Assembly of Odisha Vidhan Sabha. It does not matter whether I represent my constituency in future or not, but my aim will be to work hard to hoist the flag of BJD in Junagarh assembly constituency once again.

Padampur MLA, Pradeep Purohit: My aim was to utilise the MLA LAD fund effecitvely. I am confident that the people of my constituency will support me and BJP will win from Padampur in 2019.

Talsara MLA, Prafulla Majhi: This was my third term but the worst experience. My people were with me and I was with my people, and this bond was helpful for the development of my constituency. I am confident to get the support of my people once again in the upcoming elections.

Salepur MLA, Prakash Behera: It was a great opportunity to be a part of this august House. I am satisfied to have served my constituency well. But have many more plans pertaining to the development of the people and my region.
