Dhenkanal: The 9-yr-old boy missing since two days from the Kalpataru Ashram situated in Kanteikoili at Govindpur in Dhenkanal was rescued by police from Shyamacharanpur railway station on Friday.

Reportedly, the boy identified as Chotu Rohidas had left the Ashram after being physically beaten by the caretaker of the ashram, Baba Murari Das, who is also absconding.

There are various injury marks on his body which Chotu said was because of the beating by the Baba. Meanwhile, police has conducted medical examination of Rohit at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Dhenkanal, after which he will be handed over to the CWC.

The boy has sustained injuries on his hand, back and chest and one of his teeth is also loose which suggests that he has been hit by a hard and blunt object, said doctor Pradyut Behera after examining Chotu.
