Odisha: Miscreants Loot Over 1 Lakh Cash From Microfinance Company Employee In Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Two miscreants looted cash of over 1 lakh and a mobile phone from an employee of a private microfinance company called Vaya Finserv on Thursday. The miscreants also injured the man and he was saved just in time due to timely intervention of the locals. The loot occurred at Dholpasi near Gurujanga village under Dhenkanal Sadar Police limits.

The finance company employee, Antarjyami Kumbhar, was returning after finishing the collection. He had about Rs 90,000 of the collection money and additional Rs 12,000-15,000 cash in his pocket. Kumbhar said, “Two miscreants on a black Pulsar started following me and then asked me to stop. When I did not comply, they kicked my bike. I fell into a nearby paddy field. While I was trying to get back on my bike they attacked me with a sharp weapon.”

“They would have attacked me further but locals had gathered by this time. When they tried to intervene, the miscreants fired blank shots to scare away the locals. They used this to escape from the scene.”

Kumbhar was rushed to Dhenkanal District Hospital and he is currently under treatment. His colleagues Bandan Prasad Moharana and Trilochan Sahu collaborated with his statement.

Soubhagya Pani, SI Sadar Police Station, was present at the hospital. He said that they have recorded statement of the victim and a probe has been initiated.
