Sundargarh: A minor girl of Lephripara, who was sold in Uttar Pradesh for Rs 60,000 and had gone missing since 12 days, was rescued by the district police on Saturday and three persons were arrested in connection with the incident.
According to reports, Panchami Kamar, a relative of the girl, Choudhury Pushpendra Singh and Bimala Choudhury had taken the minor girl to Muzaffarnagar on the assurance of providing her a job.
They sold her to an elderly man there for Rs 60,000, informed Sundergarh SP Soumya Mishra.
The family members lodged a missing complaint in this regard on January 25 following which a manhunt was launched. All the accused were forwarded to the court yesterday.
