Mayurbhanj: A physically-challenged minor girl died while undergoing treatment at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada on Sunday morning following which her family members alleged medical negligence and staged demonstration by placing dead body outside the hospital campus here.

The deceased has been identified as Ranjita Patra (15) of Chalunia village under Chandua police limits.

According to her family members, Ranjita had complained of serious pain in her body and had been rushed to the hospital on Saturday afternoon. The pain showed no signs of fading after one injection, so the doctor administered a second one.

Soon, matters got worse. Ranjita cried for help when she was not able to bear the suffering, however the doctors and nurses were unavailable in the night, alleged her relatives. Later in the night, she breathed her last.

While her kin staged protest outside the hospital campus, cops began further probe into the matter after a compalint was lodged against a doctor and two nurses.
