Bhubaneswar: After the Odisha Matric results were announced today, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter and congratulated all the students who passed the examination. "I convey best wishes for your future," he wrote.
It is notable to mention here that while 5,61, 079 results have been published, 3,97,125 have passed and the pass percentage is 70.78%. Of the 3,97,125 students, girls (2,05,470 ) have outperformed boys (1,91,655). 82 schools have NIL results while 289 schools have 100% results. Koraput recorded the lowest pass percentage of 50.61% while Jharsuguda recorded the highest 85.48%.
Secretary of School and Mass Education Department Pradipta Mohapatra informed that the pass percentage is low this year due to strict surveillance of malpractices, ensuring that students did not get centres in their own schools and introdcution of several sets of question papers.
