Bolangir: In yet another incident of Maoist violence, a group of as many as 20 red rebels shot a youth dead in Khuripani village of Khaprakhol area here late last night. As per a poster left by the Maoists next to the youth’s body, they suspected him to be a police informer.

The deceased has been identified as Trilochan Taria.

In the poster, Maoists have also mentioned that Trilochan and some other villagers were earlier associated with the Maoists. Later, they betrayed the Maoists, became police informers and have been helping the cops for 23 years now.

On intimation, cops reached the spot, seized the posters and began an investigation into the incident.

It is notable to mention here that the extremists had also gunned down a contractor in Kandhamal on Sunday. The continuous chain of deaths of innocent villagers at the hands of red rebels doesn’t seem to come to an end.
