Odisha Man Held By Gurgaon Police For Stealing Gold Worth Rs 12 Lakh

Balasore: Gurgaon Police on Monday arrested a man from Machhada village under Khaira police limits of Balasore district for stealing around 300 gm gold worth over Rs 12 lakh and Rs 2 lakh cash from a Gurgaon-based house where he and his wife were working as servants.

Reportedly, the accused identified as Madan Mohan Das and his wife Sanju were working in the house of one Bharti in Gurgaon. It was on September 1 this year they decamped with the gold and cash when no one were present in the house.

Based on a complaint in this regard, Gurgaon Police with help of Soro and Khaira police nabbed Madan from his village and recovered Rs 1 lakh cash from him. On the other hand his wife Sanju has surrendered at Gurgaon Police Station.

During interrogation it was revealed that Madan has pledged the gold at Soro branch of Muthoot Finance. As per last reports, the process to recover the gold has been initiated.
